I’m Julia, a Berlin based translator, editor, and proofreader.

I’ve been working in this business for two decades now, mainly translating from English and Spanish to German.

Have things changed? Oh yes, a lot. AI is playing a huge role now and is certainly keeping us on our translator, now increasingly turned editor toes. So here’s the deal: Machine translation, without doubt, is not only on the rise, but has become predominant. BUT: If you want your texts to sound less artificial, which they still might quite often after AI did the job, I’m here to help. 🙂

Brauchen Sie Unterstützung bei der Übersetzung oder dem Lektorat Ihres Projekts?

Ich arbeite seit mittlerweile 20 Jahren als freischaffende Übersetzerin und Lektorin und biete Ihnen passgenaue, professionelle Übersetzungen, Lektorate und Korrekturen, gepaart mit persönlichem Kontakt und größter Sorgfalt. Meine Arbeitssprachen sind Englisch und Spanisch.

Warum ich, wenn KI doch schneller, kostenlos und leichter verfügbar ist? Weil es am Ende nicht künstlich klingt, oder unfreiwillig komisch, oder – noch schlimmer – peinlich oder gar unverständlich wird. Und weil es gerade bei Belletristik ab und an dann doch ein bisschen Menschlichkeit braucht. 🙂
